Reflections in water, the desert, the woods are so classic. Below are some classic landscapes, but also some with a modern twist.

Jack Kerouc's On the Road opened my eyes when I read it in my early 20's. I love long road trips. Road and paths are very symbolic and important to me. I try to capture these feelings in my art.

People are one of the most difficult subjects for artists. They are so difficult because so much of our mind is focused on recognizing our expressions, moods and reactions to each other.

Jacobs Ladders are symbolic of the passing of life - dying and death - going from one state to another. Pyramids are another symbol of the process of passing from this life into the afterworld.

Canyons are beautiful and mystical.  Zion is amazing. The Marin headlands have gentle canyons going down the beaches and Pacific Ocean  I love the Asian woodblock prints of canyons, and below created my own version of an Asian canyon.

Flowers, Trees and Forests are utterly classic subjects for artists. They are expressed in so many styles. They challenge the artist with various brush strokes and intense colors. Below are a few of mine.
