Autumn Reflections in a New England Lake

THE CRITICAL ARTIST

Who is a Critical Artist?  We spend as much time thinking about 'what to create' as in 'creating it' . We spend lots of time thinking about: "Why am I spending my time creating my paintings and sketches? And how should I do it?" We look at lots of art - the web is an amazing resource (and of course in person exhibits and museums). I probably have 100 folders on my computer - each for an artist that I admire. Each folder has 20 to 100 images of the artist's works.

San Francisco-based Greg Borton is an artist and writer. He has been sketching and painting for over 30 years and has kept his work to himself. It has been his 'private poetry'.  Recently, he has decided it is time to make his work available to the public. This website displays a number of his works. All of the works on this website were created by him. Lastly, Mr. Borton creates websites for businesses and artists - this site is one of them.

He has studied art at the Museum School in Boston (part of the Boston Museum of Fine Art), at University of California, San Francisco, and at the Marin Museum of Modern Art. He is a graduate of Harvard University and until recently worked in the software start-up industry.

His works are available here for you to view and comment on, or if you really like a piece, you can get a high quality print on Japanese paper or a mug at a very reasonable price. Almost all of the pieces start at $20 for small prints. If you like one, simply click on the image and you will be taken to checkout.  Your request will be automatically sent to the Print on Demand provider who will then process and print your order and send it to you.  You may choose the size you want. This is a high quality supplier. If you want one of the posters framed, email or call me and this can be done for you.

Also, Mr Borton has created this website (and many others), so if you want a website built for you contact me, again via email or call.
